What drives my work?
I am a committed empiricist who believes in the power of education to build more sustainable and just futures. I hope my work will contribute to a better understanding of how the world actually works, at overlapping scales, and of specific structural interventions that make systems work better for everyone.
What is my experience?
I have over a decade of mixed-methods research and classroom teaching experience. Trained in cultural anthropology, I spent many years researching and writing about 21st century maritime piracy and ocean governance. I have more recently taught high school social studies, which has reinvigorated a lifelong interest in pedagogical theories and educational policy research.
What is my education?
I have a PhD in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California, Irvine, an MA in Social Sciences from the University of Chicago, and a BA in Religious Studies from the University of Virginia.
We want to learn with you.
